Chinese Emission of 'China 6' is coming

Recently, Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People's Republic of China has established automotive emission standard of China 6a and 6b(for light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles), to continuous improve environment and reduce air pollution.

Light-duty vehicles (GB 18352.6-2016):

As of July 1, 2020, all sales and registered light-duty vehicles should meet the requirements of this standard, and Type I tests should meet the 6a stage limit requirements.

From July 1, 2023, all light-duty vehicles sold and registered shall comply with the requirements of this standard, and Type I tests shall comply with the 6b stage limits.

The people's governments of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government may implement this standard in advance in areas where conditions are available. The area where this standard is implemented in advance shall be reported to the competent department of environmental protection under the State Council for filing and execution.

In the above table, vehicle means M2, M3, N1, N2 and N3 with compression ignition and gas fuel point burners and M1 vehicles with a mass greater than 3,500 kg
